(MAGA News) – Republicans caved to Joe Biden and the Democrats on Wednesday as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell agreed to raise the debt limit to the end of the year.
The vote took place late Thursday evening as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer ended the debate and put the Debt Limit Increase Bill to a vote.

The final vote was 61-38 advancing the bill to the House of Representatives. Here is the list of Republicans who helped move the bill forward:
The Senate has narrowly voted, 61-38, to bypass a GOP filibuster of the short-term debt limit bill, with 11 Republicans joining all 50 Dems to pass the 60-vote threshold needed to proceed to a final vote.

The $480 billion dollar increase is expected to run out by December 3rd. This is the same day that other federal program funding ends due to a stop-gap measure passed earlier this month.
Parties from both sides of the aisle must find a solution to avoid yet another debt limit catastrophe in December.
The passing of this bill raises the US National Debt to $28.9 trillion dollars.
