(MAGANews.org)—Judge Juan Merchan of the New York Supreme Court has not yet decided whether former President Donald Trump may attend his son Barron Trump’s high school graduation. The former president had asked to be excused from the trial on that particular day for the occasion.
The criminal trial against Trump began on Monday. The prosecutor, Democrat Alvin Bragg of the Manhattan District Attorney, has accused Trump of 34 offenses and of falsifying company records about payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump is not being accused of “covering up a sex scandal,” according to reports.
Although Trump has refuted every accusation made against him, he may go to jail if found guilty.
Although the criminal trial jury selection process has started, Trump’s lawyers plan to ask permission to miss the trial on May 17 to attend his son Barron’s high school graduation in his native Florida.
Business Insider claims Merchan has accepted the request but declined to make a decision.
“It really depends on if we are on time and where we are in the trial,” Merchan said, according to the outlet.
In other words, because of what many have called yet another witch hunt, Trump might have to miss the high school graduation of his youngest son.
NEW: Donald Trump confirms that New York Judge Juan Merchan said he won't be able to attend his son Barron Trump's graduation.
Trump also said the judge won't let him attend a hearing before the Supreme Court.
